Our new Junior Infants

Diocesan Service
On Friday June 10th we went to Clonmel for the Diocesan Service. There were 6 schools there. It started with a play and then we had songs and each school had a part. We did a reading. After the service we had lunch and then we went to the school grounds and played games…

More fruit tasting….
We have tried more fruit and vegetables lately. We have tried beetroot, asparagus, mango and physalis. They have been interesting and not everyone liked them. The physalis tasted a little like a bitter tomato. The beetroot had an earthy taste. The mango was very sweet and the asparagus was like peas.

Hats….Fashion Entrepreneurs
We recently made hats out of recycled materials….we had so much fun planning them and making them. Then we did a fashion show for the Junior Room. The hats were excellent and our teachers really liked them.

Gardening
We have been planting some vegetables lately and they are growing nicely. We planted potatoes, lettuce, turnips, strawberries and carrots. We look forwards to tasting our produce.

Gymnastics
We recently had a few gymnastic lessons. We learned how to do the forward roll, the beginnings of a hand-stand and how to balance. It was very enjoyable and we learned new skills.

Spring Clean
The time came again for us to do a Spring Clean of the school grounds. We pulled out the brushes and gloves and got to work. We pulled weeds, brushed up leaves, cleaned up rubbish and tidying the yard. We worked hard and are proud of all we did.

It’s finally here……Our Geodome
We’ve waited a long time and finally it has arrived…..our Geodome….we have had so much fun climbing on it the past few days. Thank you Danny and the P.T.A.. We look forward to seeing all the other improvements to the school garden….

Sports Day
We held our sports day on Friday June 17th. It began at 12 pm.We had lots of races and food. We won medals and ate ice-lollies.

Senior Tour
We went to Cork City Gaol where we learned about prisoners, what people did in jail and how they were treated. There was a boy of 9 imprisoned. Only lady had 57 convictions by 23. Then we went to the Maradyke Arena. We played soccer, crazy golf and took part in fun fitness, rock…
